Configurable roles are an additional layer of permissions, along with Allocadia’s default roles, that allows users to customize permissions according to certain functionalities in the tool. Users are now able to restrict certain permissions, such as altering the structure or data on the Budget Grid for different users. A user will only be able to execute functions as defined in their assigned role. This enables the creation of roles that align to an organization’s internal processes and create more high level or granular roles as desired.
By default, Configurable Roles contains a base of three default roles which are Administrator, Editor, and Editor - Data Entry Only. Permissions for these default roles can be adjusted, and these roles can be used to further build additional user roles according to an individual’s position in the organization. Only company admins are able access to Configurable Roles and define permissions.
Additional roles are built by duplicating default roles. These newly created roles will inherit the base role’s permissions and can be adjusted as desired. Permissions in Configurable Roles are often dependency based and are linked to the status of other roles and permissions. For example, a user is unable to create Actuals/POs without the permission to Edit them as well.
