Password Security: Historical Passwords

Allocadia provides several options to safeguard your organization’s financial data. The Historical Passwords option allows Administrators to prevent users from reusing previous passwords to increase security and help prevent other unwanted visitors from potentially accessing financial data.

  1. Click into your name's drop down menu at the top right of the screen and select the Organization Settings.
  2. Select Security in the drop-down menu to navigate to the Security page
  3. On the Security page, click on the Historical Passwords box and enter how many previous passwords you would like the system to check for
Best Practice: The History Check option is intended to be used along with the Password Expiry option. You can toggle the History Check option off, but for security purposes, we recommend you enable it to prevent users from reusing previous passwords. We recommend you check the past 3 – 5 passwords.

The Historical Passwords option indicates the number of previously used passwords that cannot be reused.  This increases security and prevents unauthorized access of financial data.
