In the Activities tab (formerly Budget tab) targets can be viewed by the Performance Insights cards allowing marketers to align their bottoms-up plan with the target. When Marketing Activities are added to an Activity Plan, Plan amounts are subtracted from the Top Down Allocation showing what is left to plan in alignment with corporate goals. Keeping Top Down Allocation visible while doing bottom up planning allows marketers to gain the visibility needed to spend every dollar without going over budget.
Viewing Top Down Allocation for Activities:
- On the Activities tab, the Top Down Allocation for that activity will appear as a Performance Insight at the top of the screen, if the Performance Insight cards are configured
- Click the arrow in the Performance Insight to expand and view more details
Note: Top Down Allocation is associated with the Views. Depending on which View you are looking at the amounts may differ. For example, the Monthly View may have the FY Left to Plan and FY Left to Spend measures, where the Q1 View will have the Q1 Left to Plan and Q1 Left to Spend.
